About TryCreativeWriting

Try Creative Writing was created because I noticed a significant lack of complete writing sites. There were some great writing blogs out there that covered individual topics, but there never seemed a site that truly built a writing community around it. I dreamed of finding a site where I could talk about my writing with other aspiring authors, get advice on writing tactics, and find places to submit my writing, all in one place. However, no sites seemed to cover every need, so I decided it was time to take action.

While our creative writing site is still in its infancy, we've got a lot of ideas going forward. To start with, we plan on building up a nice reservoir of information for people to draw from. We want this to be a creative writing resource that can be useful for everyone. In this respect, we're hoping to provide recommendations on good writing books, as well as our own set of content to complement these books. We've got recommendations on free writing contests, great creative writing activities, and creative writing prompts to help inspire your own writing.

As the site grows, we hope to go into phase two of the creative writing site, and provide community features that aren't seen anywhere else on the web. A positive forum where people can discuss their writing and seek advice from other people. In addition, we'll be setting up a method in which you can organize your own writing groups and edit your writing in private with other members of the site. In this way, we will not only provide people the information they need to succeed, but also the feedback they need to grow their own writing.

In the end, the most important part to getting our site off the ground, is your support. Come back regularly to see what changes have come to the site, and visit the contact us page and send me an email if you're interested in helping out. Anything you want to see on the site, or would like to add yourself, let me know. Together, we can make the defining creative writing site on the web.
